You’ll also have an opportunity to study one or more of the world’s major religions in depth: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, Sikhism.

Meet Your Tutor

As part of her academic research, Dr. Jane Orton has done fieldwork and published in academic journals on major religions: Buddhism, Bön and indigenous religions in the Himalayas and Islam, Hinduism and Munda religion in the Sundarbans of Bangladesh. This means that your tutorials will be full of fascinating examples and case studies from across the world!

Jane’s research Masters’ at Oxford University focused on Tibetan Buddhist narratives as well as other religions in the Himalayas. Philosophy (in which she has a PhD) is a big part of Religious Studies A Level and Jane also has over ten years’ experience in tutoring the Christianity side of the course. Jane designed and taught courses at the University of Edinburgh when she was completing her PhD, and has university level and A Level exam marking experience. She has tutored students in the main UK exam boards, including AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, Eduquas and SQA.

We offer online home schooling for students who are not attending school, or whose school does not offer the student’s preferred A Level as an option. Home schooling might seem like a big job, but it can be cheaper than sending your child to private school and much more effective than working through standardised courses with little or no personal contact. Home schooling can be a great option for students who are unable to attend mainstream school for any reason and offers flexibility regarding topic choice without losing academic rigour.
